I'm VERY seriously thinking of removing both resonator AND muffler and putting a straight pipe with a straight-through glasspack muffler on mine. That would give the spooling benefits of a completely straight pipe, but still have a little sound deadening.

My truck has a straight pipe, and with the turbo it isn't terribly loud nor does it drone obnoxiously. I "raps" pretty good when you really get on it, and when compression braking, but otherwise sounds pretty good.

However, even though its exhaust pipe is nearly twice the length of the one on the MB's it is still louder than I'd want my MB to be...
