You're cherry-picking and not even using the correct numbers. You article says 90% of Americans believing in an interacting God. That's quite higher. The main difference is how many believe in evolution. From what I remember reading elsewhere it's about 2/3 which is a lot more than your 25%. But half of those 2/3 believe evolution is overseen and regulated by God.
