Thinking of gutting the entire electrical works from my 76' 240D. PO made way too many "cost saving changes" during his ownership. He apparently pulled the steering column to replace a bushing and in doing so distrurbed the wiring and now absolutely nothing works there. He apparently pulled the dash and in doing so everything is disconnected and left hanging, again absolutely nothing works there. The console has been removed and placed back in location but not fashened, again, absolutely nothing works there.

My needs are simply, "Keys & Heat" so to speak. I figured I can rewire the lights, dash instruments, horn and defroster. This will make the vehicle street legal. Cleaning up the vaccum system and going over everything under the hood would be the next step.

Are there any secrets regarding old benz? Does this seem doable?

PS: I see where you guys post vehicles and sometimes name them, are these current vehicles or past vehicles? Just wondering.....
