Hi All

Every month or so, I hit the local Pawn shops in AC in search of old gold case watches. Today while I didn't come across any watch deals, I did however buy 2 $1 gold coins. One is dated 1856 and one 1853.
While I was in one of the shops a guy came in selling the coins. The guy at the counter took his ID and offered him $100.00 for the coins.

I then offered the guy $200.00 for the coins. Quick sale.
I am not a collector but just thought hey having two $1 US gold coins that are over 140 years old would be, well maybe the start of a new hobby. I haven't researched the coins just yet, but ebay list some and they are bring $130.00 to $250.00 a piece.

Do we have any collectors or investors of gold coins here?
