I plan on "molding" new air cleaner mounts for my '83 300CD Turbo. Can anyone tell me how thick the rubber part is on these? I need to know exactly how thick they are to mold the new ones.

I have the remaining metal stud pieces for them. I plan to mold them from a 2 part polyurethane encapsulation material I have. I'm thinking this will work pretty good as long as I don't make them bigger, from threaded end to threaded end, than the stock ones. I actually think I'll try to make them a tad thinner than stock so they don't tear apart under the diesel vibration.
