So you splice fiber....what about the lifespan rating on fiber cables? I dealt with fiber networking at my last project I was working on....and apparently the installers only warranty/rate the fiber to last like 7-10 years or something. Have you found this to be the case? I've worked with fiber much older that was still working fine.....but is there a real deterioration issue? I'd imagine it'd probably be worse with the plastic/polymer cables vs. the glass strand.....
