And Dexcool has been reformulated so it would be ok to use new stuff. BUT Im not a fan of it myself, so im gonna use BMW coolant in my 2500 here when i repair a coolant pipe. Bimmer or Zerex G-05 would be the best IMO, just flush it ALL out real good, heater core and all before refillin with good stuff. Just a good flush should suffice unless theres gunk in there. Other wise i would NOT do a citrus flush or anything. Maybe a weaker off the shelf Autozoo flush if its dingy only. |
Thats what I'm thinking. Most likely its original coolant, but it looks clean. So I'll probably just flush it with water, than refill with distilled and G05.
As for the leak it could be the upper hose...I'm hoping it is.
I'll have to clean the coolant off and drive it to find out.
