The good news is, that there is a mechanical(lock) part of the switch and an electrical part. The electrical part isn't very expensive, and other than having to remove some things to get at it (and the screws require a very short good screwdriver), it's not that difficult to replace. I removed the steering wheel and instrument cluster to get at it; there may be another way, but I don't know if you can get at it from underneath.

Not ever having performed such a job, I will check in search to see if there are any instructions on removal of both parts. On a scale of 1 to 10 how difficult would you say this is?
