Jeremy Clarkson tested a high end Jag with a twin turbo V6 diesel a while back, and even driving wastefully and with all car options on and such....he still got well over 40mpg.....

If the Jetta TDI wagon can get over 40mpg.....then 35.5 should be an easy target. And I bet both of those vehicles weigh a lot more than 2,750....
