I was not thinking of Drilling holes; I was thinking of getting a nice piece of hard Wood and Hole Sawing the holes in the Wood for the Gauges and mounting the Wood with 2 screws through that spot.
The Wood could be glued together to make it thicker and stained and contoured to make it look nice.
I think there is room for four 2 inch gauges.
What about using 1" gages? You could still use a nicely finished piece of wood as trim, but if you only put 1" holes in the dash, the original piece of wood trim could still be reinstalled later if you wanted and would cover the holes. I know I have seen 1" gages maybe from JC Whitney or Summit, I cant remember which. Just an idea...
