That's exactly what the plate was used for...service work work-orders or anything dealer-paperwork wise...it kept the paperwork orderly and the handwriting guesswork out of the mix...

It worked exactly like the old MasterCard/Visa card squishers the Dept. Stores used to have at the checkouts...drop plate in squisher, drop charge slip in place over plate, slide squisher over the mess, out would pop the paperwork, plate is handed/stored with owner/car and away you'd go...empting your wallet at the cashier's window...

I still have the plate and books from the 1st O of my unit...HISTORIC!
