Dumb question - are you certain it wasn't overfilled?
I know SQUAT about your car and motor, but I would theorize that lack of PCV alone wouldn't cause that. But, there's an easy way to find out. Hook up that hose, clean the plugs, and see if it happens again.
Other than that, I have no useful suggestions.
