The 6.2s are probably more reliable
I have a 95 burb with a 6.5 turbo in it. The PO replaced the engine to the tune of $10K but the later engines (599) blocks are more reliable. That said I have seen many mid 90s Gm diesel burbs and trucks with new engines around 250K , after which I think they are fine for quite a while. The 6.2s are more reliable but they are quite under powered. I had an 85 chev 3/4T 4x4 which was slow but really cheap to run, I regularly got in the 25 Mpg (imperial gallon) range. with that. Pretty close to 1100Km range in town more on the highway. My 85 was a standard but the autos 700R4s were prone to failure but not as expensive to fix as the more modern 4L80E . Some had Turbo 400s behind them which were terrible for mileage but never broke. Long and short with 49K on it if it isn't too rusty it is worth considering.
