Shift knob shaft for W124?

I know PAD used to carry them, but since they changed to performance products, I don't think they do anymore. I did E-mail them.

I'm looking to get a shaft I can use the newer MB shiftknobs or aftermarket knobs on.

Will a Shaft from a W202 or W140 fit? or maybe a shaft from a C36 or R129SL?

I could probably have one custom made up at a machineshop, but I would rather buy one already made if possible.

I am changing my wood into aluminum or black not sure which yet, because the wood is severly cracked in the console and the drivers door. I figure I can cover it with some material or vinyl laminate that will look good but still be removable later on if need be. Once I do this, my wood shift knob will no longer match, and I don't feel like using my old leather knob.

Please let me know if you know where to find this part, I am very interested in doing it.

Thanks,

Alon
