HAHA...
After 3 days of cleaning, this is what I have got thus far:
I am using a steam cleaner, with laundry detergent.
Also, Brillo pads, tooth brush and wooden popsicle sicks.
I alternate that with a thourough brush coat of used veggie oil.
The veggie oil works a good job on cutting the caked on gunk.
And protects the oil less parts, and it is free.
There are some factory markings, or possibly from a previous rebuild?
Light green on the transmission, in other places a couple of white globs of paint.
There is also a large USA stenciled on the side of the block.
There looks to be a noch cut out of the transmission pan.
It looks like the engine blew a ring.
There is some heat discoloration on the piston shaft.
Where can I get detailed blow ups of this engine?
There was a cd rom in the car, "Mercedes Benz repair cd rom", on the sleeve, cd shows on my computer as a blank.
