Mintex are very cheap, but it's for a reason. If you do a lot of heavy braking, they overheat very quickly and start to crumble. They might be OK for the street, but here's my experience with them:

One weekend at the track (with my 911) my track pads (Hawk DTC-60) were just about shot, so I popped in some cheapo Mintex street pads I had lying around, just to get me through the last 30 minute session of the day. Less than 5 minutes into the session, I had to pit because I would push the brake pedal and NOTHING would happen!! Car just wouldn't slow down. In the pits, I got out, and saw SMOKE coming from all four brake calipers! Pulled into the paddock and removed the pads - they were all completely cooked and friction material was crumbling apart. I've used "Metal Masters" and other assorted street pads on the track for short periods of time and never had this happen before, so I think "you get what you pay for" with those cheap Mintex street pads.

After that, I now only buy Pagid or Textar for my street cars.
