Interesting thread! It seems that most previous owners are open to the idea of seeing their old cars. I had the opposite experience with one of my MB's
. I called the original owner of my 1987 560SEL (in MINT condition) about the paperwork problems I was having. (It had already passed through an auction house, and two owners, but was still in his name!!) and he was an extremely argumentative older asian guy, asking where I had gotten his number, and basically told me that he didn't care at all to help me. When in reality I was trying to help him, by telling him that this car was still a liability to him. I guess he didn't care and hung up on me after about three minutes. Oh well.
