ahem....ok boys not too get too testy here, but i really do enjoy Lee's comparisions. In fact i look forward to them because i recollected back to my under-age-driving days when my father brought home a 92 500E for the weekend. We went driving and hunting for corvette's! hoooooooooooooeeeeeEEEEEEE was that fun. I also remember doing standing starts in the car using an archaic technique of recording 0-60mph (6.4)! and i tell you the throttle was not all the way to the floor. But the most memorable experience i had with the car was the WHAMMING thrust the V-8 spat out on demand, till this day i have yet to find an experience equal to that (although top speed in an F355 convertible did come close, ok ok so the sun beating down on my smiling face played a huge factor along with trying to keep my baseball cap on during the ride was pretty cool). So Lee, please post on, it only makes me lust for more cars (my list is getting longer!)
But back to the discussion on the flapping hood, the flap only occured in the driver-front side. I would describe it exactly as the gentleman above me said "almost like the air is getting into the engine bay". I have seen this before on TV with high speed runs on the corvette (C5) and the viper GTS. Oh my GOD is that blasphemy to mention american iron with german engineering? I think not!
Well i have yet to test the flap under calm conditions, but i will , and if the flap goes away i will be sure to let you all know.
Until then, keep up the posts!
