Typical Mercedes driveline loss with an automatic transmission is right around18%. Assuming 120hp at the flywheel, that's about 98hp at the rear wheels. The big variable here is weight... you can't know the precise weight of the car without putting it on some digital 4-wheel scales. The published curb weights don't include fuel or passengers. But anyway, spec for a 1985 300D is right around 15 seconds, so performance sounds about right.
