I usually use whichever car is the most reliable. So my "daily driver" used to be my Lexus, and now it's my Camry. My old Chrysler is also very reliable and that's what I take if I'm taking my dog along with me. So I guess my answer is anywhere between $1200 and $30,000 ish.

I'm hoping my 300D will make a nice daily driver when it's fixed. I expect to have about $1800 to $2000 invested. (But I have not run these figures past the Congressional Budget office, so they could easily double or triple.)
