Oh, oh. I guess I was following some old advice on what is suitable for steering fluid in my car. I figured old advice, old car, it works out... never thought about formulation changes of fluids. I know Dexron III is "old school" fluid these days, and figured it hadn't changed and that is why it's not used in modern designs.

I guess I'll be doing this fluid again... Been running on it for one season so hope it's not done too much damage.
