The sensor is connected to the adaptor plate between the engine and trans. picks up the tach signal and sends it to the EGR amplifier that is behind the kick panel to the right of the passengers feet.

The pick up at the front of the engine really doesn`t do anything. just a diagnostic plug in for the shop.

the oil cooler lines are a different part# between the D and SD.

the 300D has an oil line that connects to the back of the gauge.
DO NOT start the engine if you disconnect it.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! 240D w/auto

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.
