Quick update. I finally goy underneath the car. If you look at the red arrow you can see a metal bracket that holds the transmisison cooler line up against the oil pan. Well from what I gather (by looking at the drivers side) there should be a rubber gasket of sorts that is inbetween the metal bracket and metal line..... There material was so badly worn that it was metal on metal and that is why I sprung a leak as best as I can tell.

Also the only tranny cooler hose from auto zone or pepboys is 3/8s. I'm pretty sure that is too small. So I'm probably going to just purchase the darn line from Phil for $135 and be done with this.
