the only sealent we use that has never been an issue is called ( The Right Stuff ) it is in stores like auto zone and alike

does not come in a tube only in a pressure can about $17.00 bucks and it willl if the gasket comes off in some what one piece do what you need

cleaning the gasket with lacquer thinner and with a paper towell no rags the lint and rag parts coming off will end up in the oil pump - paper will just disappear

it has sealed some of the toughest jobs in the shop and even used it with no gasket at the race track and never had an issue < you will have to use a rubber hammer to remove what you seal with it as it really does the job -- jz
