Thx Berfinroy, I have been on the 300SE site and he does have tons of info, as far as the mechanic goes fortunately before I became a photographer I spent 20 yrs as an ASE master certified automotive technician. I have worked on many MB but not this early model. When ever I come across a car I am not familiar with I gather as much info on it as possible, pick everyones brain that I can get to cut loose there knowledge then I make my plan of "attack" so to speak.

Does anyone here know if you can access the oil pump drive? if I could get to the oil pump drive and manually prime the motor before turning it over is what I would hope for.

This car was compleatly reconditioned in the mid eighties (eng,susp,brakes,elect) to the tune of about 20k and the milage was 41k and it now has 59k on it. So I will be lucky if there is minimal damage from it sitting for so long.
