Some things we have done were bad, others were good. I think on the whole we are a good people.

Seems to me that Haiti's problem has more to do with location than anything else. Do they even have any resources on which to draw on for income? I would guess when the French were in power they French mainland supported the island. With France out of the picture what did they have? Uneducated and poor people will tend to have more offspring no? Too many factions fighting for their own survival rather and the survival as a whole (sounds like someone here).

I don't see how this has anything to do with the survival of the fittest. The Haitians are in a bad way because of what appears to be bad luck. They got stuck on a piece of crap island and there are too many of them trying to eek out a living. There is no birth control and little else to do.
