Referring to a grease as being "molly based" is technically inaccurate. Molybdenum disulfide is an extreme pressure additive which comprises a very small percentage of the overall package.

Likewise, comparing the lubrication requirements of construction equipment to automobiles driven at highway speeds is shortsighted. Exxon, for one, recommends against using their moly EP grease in wheel bearings of any vehicle operated at a speed over 35mph. (Clearly, a company recommending against the use of its product cannot be characterized as "marketing hype.")

For automotive wheel bearings, I have been very satisfied with Exxon Ronex MP. It is also suitable for chassis applications on vehicles which require periodic lubrication.
