you want to put the oil return above the engine oil level so i have heard as it is ment to help save the oil seals in the turbo as there is less pressure on the oil drain.

that would be great if you don't mind Yeah, the old block was done this way but another one to compare would be really good. I was told by the guy who's rebuilding my turbo exactly that (if oil can't drain efficiently, it will damage seals) so this confirms it
