last year on the science channel they had Moon Machines another great show, the space program from the point of view of the engineers. (like a documentery of the episode about apollo 9) since I'm from a family of engineers, and I work for an engineer, it was very interesting to see how they did more with less back then. they had slide rules and went to the moon... we have CAD and are going to be hitching a ride to the space station with the Russians.
Amazing how the world works.

My father worked on the LEM. I still have reams of paper documents of specifications and designs all mimeographed and bound into loose-leaf binders
I used to get into them as a kid and be amazed at the schematic drawings.
