The .31 and .51 are low SAPS, so they are low Zn, P, etc. No big issue. The CJ-4 and ULSD formulated oils are proving to be superior in performance regardless.

Using a 229.31 oil would be perfect. However, frankly, Id just go with the HDEO of your choice and be done with it. I prefer a diesel-specific add pack, and that is something that API CF and in reality 229.xx wont give you.
