yup. discussed at length here on the forum. ANY TIME YOU MESS WITH THE LINKAGE ON THE SHUT OFF OR IP you need perfect attention to detail and have to be positive it is done right, or you can totally blow your motor.
it's called a runaway diesel... sortof... runaway feeds on motor oil until it explodes.
fuel runaway at least only runs against the IP max fuel limiter. and can be killed by cutting off the fuel supply.
search for runaway diesel read and read.
I'd guess you need a mercedes shop manual to do it right.
