I wasn't aware that the city government of detroit was in charge of american economic or foreign policy, did I miss a memo?

I was simply pointing out that the american government's track record for the last half century is fairly horrible (and embarrassing), my cat might have done a better job. I am aware that there are plenty of competent old white guys in the US; unfortunately none of them have been elected to high office in my lifetime; and I'm not optimistic about the future based on "discussions" like these.
