Wow...I got lucky on my search....I cannot believe it. This is exactly whats happening to me...I was driving down the road one night and I noticed my alternator dummy light flash a couple of times. Since then I've been losing battery. I found one problem where I was draining due to a short, but after fixing that I was still having power loss. Last night I drove home from about 10 miles away. I went from everything working fine to having absolutely no electrical power when I got home. The headlights completely drained the power.

All my idiot lights fail to come on (this seems to be intermittent, they quit for a couple weeks, but then started working again, now they are out again).

Looks like it's time to pull the voltage regulator and check it out.

Thanks for the complete write up and pics Snookwhaler ! ! !
