Hello there tech people,

I haven't been posting or responding much because I; 1. Don't have a merc yet, 2. Don't know enough anyway. I'm looking for a 250/280CE W114 and as it happens one has appeared for 2500 euro(which is very similar to 2500 dollars at the moment). The trouble is the owner says it needs bodywork. When quizzed he said the paint is bubbling in places and a respray should sort this out. It has been garaged since '88, and the car is running fine apart from this paint issue. Having not viewed the car yet, I don't know the extent of the bubbling. From doing a search I know that this means rust is either there, or on the way. My question is, how do I know when to draw the line. How much is a reasonable amount to accept, (the car is quite cheap for these lands). I don't mind getting a bit of body work done, and I was going to get a respray anyway.
