You bring up some very good and logical points, but don't ever underestimate or try to outguess the public.

A guy I know who has an auto a/c shop said that you would be surprised at how many relatively new vehicles come into his shop that have what would have been minor fixes for him, but since he detected the sealant he couldn't do anything for them and serious damage had already occurred.

A skin flint is a skin flint. I should know, I am one. I've done my share of making things worse in an effort to save a relatively small amount of money. The only thing between me and having my a/c system destroyed by this junk is the fact that I am aware of it. With this post I'm trying to pass that awareness along.
