No noises before failure, but I did know it was going because it lost brake boost and engine shut off. It's my wife's car and as luck would have it she was dealing with her mother's knee replacement and needed the car, so we took a chance. Bad decision.

The pump ramps on the IP sprocket are also OK. I have looked at the cam - it is OK and I am now pulling the oil pan, I can see some debris thru the side cover and I want to clean the whole thing out, also gives a view of the crank timing chain sprocket.
