I'd just like to reiterate what I said earlier in this thread, after reading the last few posts. I subscribed to this thread because I'm getting ready to go through an AC repair, so it keeps coming to my email, and I keep checking in for new information.
I sort of feel like what I've read is implying that anyone who asks a question is wasting everyone's time because they haven't made an acceptable effort to look through every page on the forum. I, for one, usually start out with the DIY articles and links, then go to the search. But if I can't find it in the first 2 or 3 combinations of words that I think are the heart of the problem, I ask the forum members. Especially in a case like I had this week with a problem in the middle of a project. It's not that some people are lazy, or even unwilling to research the problem. But I, myself, will only spend so much time looking before I realize that (pick one)- the sun is going down outside; those clouds are looking pretty darn dark; the parts store is going to close if I don't get an answer quick; etc. It sounds like one or more of these posts are lumping anyone who asks a legitimate question into the group of young, lazy people who want someone else to do all the work. As a retired 51 year old Ironworker, (who also taught apprentices for 5 years
after a long day in the hot\cold weather), I have to admit, sitting in front of a computer for hours is not my cup of tea. Which is exactly why I always thank and commend others who go above and beyond in helping me, and others, on the forum. (See my previous post in this thread) If this were to be strictly a "read and find" format, they should just print it and sell the book. But it's a forum, and asking, answering and discussing these subjects is what a forum is all about. Forgive me if this sounds like a rant, but geez, fellas, we're not all experts in this field. That's why we like you !

! Don't make us feel stupid as well as ignorant. After all, I'm here to fix my ignorance on the subjects. But you can't fix stupid, as they say. I think I feel an inferiority complex coming on! (Meanwhile, thanks again for the good info. I surely do appreciate it!) Butch
