My rear rotors on the 1986 560SL were absolutely frozen on. No amount of pepetrating oil or sledge hammer pounding did any good whatsoever. What saved the day was a good old wheel puller and more pounding. Using two of the pads against the hub to force against, although they ended up quite dented, they protected the hub and the rotors came off.
Advice: use a wheel puller - much easier on you and the car!
