My understanding is that the MB rotors are a softer metal that improves braking but does not resurface well. The mechanic I deal with said they would not resurface like the older rotors and suggested that I purchase new ones. He was not selling them, so he did not have an interest in pointing me in that direction. He would have profited by surfacing them for me.
