yup, looks like my X is on the bottom. Meaning that it is the lowest point when mounted on a mercedes. It would have been on top when mounted on a gm.

Please excuse my blatant disregard for vocabulary. I call it the main seal b/c it looks like it seals the back of the whole compressor to the front of the whole compressor. I need to go and wikki "how does a compressor work" before I got spouting random vocabulary.
