In a Kiplinger article today, Mercedes 300D and 300TD are listed as one of 10 cars that refuse to die. Only they got it wrong in that they think it has an inline 6 cylinder diesel engine.
In 1986-87 they were absolutely correct. They just put the wrong year with the wrong engine. Both 300D and 300TD in the late 80s had inline 6 603s.
