Typical caliper clearance areas are the inside of the rim, and the back of the face of the wheel.

Tire clearance is of concern to the strut, body, and other suspension components.
Right again, I need some rest. My mind is not in full contact with the fingers on the keyboard. Tire to the tie rod would be the first culprit. And back to the caliper if I dare. If a 14 inch wheel doesn't hit it a 15" wheel should be even farther away.
