I've adjusted the one on the SD. That car would start in second gear and be sluggish until the turbo came online.
The benefit, if there not a problem elsewhere, is more performance and less mpg.
Some mention that if you don't have enough fuel being delivered, there is a timing problem.

What direction did you adjust it? I've been adjusting mine CW from where it was, 1/2 turn now and I don't feel any power lost, then again my hydrogen system is helping with that and mileage is climbing and no black smoke unless I floor it then I see the black smoke for the duration it is floored. Most of the time during stop and go traffic I see gray smoke even when I accelerate harder than I normally do.
