My parents bought one new in the early 70's. Very expensive.

They got tired of it after a few decades, probably due to the weight, and I took it from them. I used it for another decade or so before giving it away.

I think I want a Dyson, but I'm not sure. We have a cheap something or other which works well enough. It's just a vacuum cleaner.
