There is nothing in the world that can prevent theft. IF you have an armed police force and they cannot, what makes you think you can even come close to that with a HOA? What is there to fight? They don't want John Redneck to be having a broken down car in his driveway so they insist on an inspected vehicle. The last 2 places I moved into with a HOA, they laid down the rules BEFORE I closed and gave me a physical copy of the rules on closing and an email. Some neighborhoods do not want commercial vehicles there. They lay it down and you know that before you move in.
You people sound like my neighbor who didn't have AC. He wanted to put a window unit and then *****ed that he was told to remove it. Hello! It is in the rules because they want to keep trash out. You want to live in trash, move to a trailer park.
