Let me know if I can help

Sounds like you have a good, systematic approach in mind. One thing on these cars worth mentioning, I was shocked at the location of the WUR in comparison to the 6.9. The 6.9 is right in the middle near the front of the engine and is easily accessible. On the other hand, the 280E WUR is underneath the car and near the bottom of the engine bay. It is much harder to R&R and it also does not lend itself to being good for the UT WUR given greater exposure to the elements. It can be relocated without too much trouble if desired.

I am very critical and difficult to satisfy. But, I'm very pleased with how my euro 280E runs and drives at pretty close to euro stock. It actually is 100 percent euro stock because the EGR is disabiled. It has a new euro exhaust system. I removed all of my federalization equipment. Mine may not be perfectly tuned either. I have not bothered to check the control pressures but I'm pretty confident that Larry calibrated it correctly. Ignition timing and idle mixture very likely not perfect either.

Anyway, if you like the car I think you would be very pleased with the outcome should you decide to do something similar. The advantage you have over me is that you have had the opportunity to drive one of these far longer than I have so you should have a pretty good sense about whether you want to go to the expense of making this change on this particular car.

Let me know if I can help. I think I have just been down the road you might decide to take. Hope this helps.
