Costs on getting custom rods made?
You'll need to do a lot of work to the block. At 88.5mm the throws hit the side of the cylinders. You'll need to eye-brow them or clearance it somehow. You also need to get 16lbs out of the SDL crank while you're bored.

A set of rods is probably going to be in the 1200dollar ballpark. Just remember you've got a 217.625mm deck height to play with, and a 92.4mm stroke.

Cast pistons are alright if you're not going to turn it that tight. They're more brittle and are less tolerant of detonation than forgies.

Also remember, AMG motors had different intake cams (some say shrick, but I'm not sure I believe that yet), the 3.4 had a ported inlet and exhaust while the 3.6 just had a ported exhaust.
