*Footnote on the guy in LA that just "had to have my '83 SD," in '99. The reason he used as an excuse was "he couldn't take the time off to come pick it up." Translation=didn't have even the $500 to ship a $5K car, when he's only paying $2,500 for it.
He was a product mgr. (highly paid) at the firm I repped 20 years for. He had seen my '83 SD in Memphis, TN., is when he told me to call when selling, because he "just had to have it." Six months later at a sales meeting in Vegas, he asked what I sold the car for. When I told him $5K, he just hung his head.
It was a beautiful car, I must admit!
