Yes, it will fit and it will drive using the set up from a 201 or a 124. HOWEVER, need to secure a flywheel from europe , or weld on some tabs on the donor for the crank sensor to read.

You will always get the "check engine electronics" message at start up since the 12 pin auto tranny wiring is disconnected. Not a big deal.

As a previous post said, it is not exciting to drive as even the best of these trannies was blah ( I think my semi is smoother shifting), but it is reliable now and no worries of "limp home mode".

EDIT: Just noticed you are in UK. Should be plenty of manual tranny Benzes all over the place. Don't know that I would bother with the swap. We Yanks are quite jealous of your selection of fine diesels!! Need to get out a welder to build what we want here...
