nevermind i got ahead of myself i had to be sure it would shift going forward first before i dropped the trans again, well after about 2 miles it would not shift out of first, so my first thought was oh **** i really screwed up now!!! but after a good blip of the throttle it shifted then shifted again . all was well after that. pulled in the drive and put her in reverse to see if it would engage and "viola" i had reverse!!!!!!!! german engineers have nothing on me. just kidding. so my consensus is that the vaseline that i was using to hold certain springs and ball bearings in the valve body and or grease to lube the b2 piston seal just needed to be worked through. but im gonna do a pressure reading test, just because... As far as fully rebuilding the trans, just take your time and pay attention to what you are doing and take lots of pictures before and after u pull something out like the valve body assembly and band guides , and of course pay special attention to which way springs and washers and shims came out so they go back in the same way. but i will be more than happy to help anyone through the process . just let me know!!!!!!
